City Bike Rack ASL - Free Font

City Bike Rack ASL - Free Font

$0.00

The CityBikeRackASL font is to be used for the design and construction of city bike racks. It is inspired by ASL hand and finger movements to both form various words, and to bring attention to the deaf communities that exist throughout the United States. The font uses gestures in English, regional to the U.S. and was created with permission and encouragement from members of the the Fargo, ND deaf community. It may look similar to other ASL fonts, but was specifically designed so that each letter would form a completely enclosed, lock-friendly, bike rack when welded and formed from metal pipe.

In 2018, the letters spelling out F-A-R-G-O in ASL graphics were created and prominently cemented in downtown Fargo in a rainbow of colors to show the excitement of bringing these rack designs to the public. Now with the CityBikeRackASL font, you’re invited to download the graphic files for spelling out your hometown, or city, or state, or whatever you want!

While the font is free to use, please consider working closely with the deaf and ASL users in your community to bring about ownership and pride in the signed letters. It is important to make that connection and develop real relationships that provide a benefit to those groups. If you enjoy the font, please consider making a donation to your local or regional deaf-friendly organization.

Thank you!
